Pony Time creates some great sound coming from only two artists, Luke Beetham on Bass and Stacy Peck on drums. At first you might think it’s a rhythm section without the melody line, but not so. Luke can provide both melody and rhythm with his diverse and unique style. With Stacy’s great drumming, they create something extraordinary.

Here he adds performances by Hope Simpson and Jordan Vazquez with back up vocals and long-time friend Matt Stegner, vocalist and guitar.

    The Fame Riot

    Year: 2015

    Runtime: 38 min

The Fame Riot is clearly one of the best bands to emerge from the Seattle scene. Beyond the look & the youthful swagger, they provide great music and great entertainment. In a 2013 Sound Off interview, Shazzam Watkins and Liz Scarlett described their music as “a soup that never stops cooking but you can try it any time you like.” Their quest to create infectiously danceable, yet credible glam pop-rock is a dream fulfilled, because at this fortuitous age they have the talent to go out on a limb with their dandy style and driving music.

    Passenger

    Year: 2013

    Runtime: 18 min

Mike Rosenberg's crafted some of the very best observational songwriting of the year with his lovely new album, All the Little Lights. It's a lush, acoustic collection he's complemented with the perfect epithet in Passenger. "The lyrics and the stories," explains the young, Brighton-born-and-bred musician, "are told from the perspective of a passenger just watching the world go by." For his stirring session in our music room, Mike spun tales of a lonely afternoon on a riverbank in Glasgow Scotland ("Feather On the Clyde"), the hard appreciation that spawns only in the wake of personal loss ("Let Her Go") and a reminder that the present moment is everything ("Life's for the Living"). It's an emotional performance; a journey you'll be grateful to be a passenger aboard.

    Victoria Contreras

    Year: 2016

    Runtime: 23 min

Strings pour, horns soar and a refreshingly soulful voice takes center stage. You are suddenly transcended to 1962. You begin to sway to a familiar nostalgic sound. Then, the lyrics take over and a touch of modern instrumentation and production is unveiled. The sheer poetic relevance and honesty jolts you. Bold, bright, clever, incensed, dark, strong, silly, sad. This is not a sound from the 60's but the sound of today and tomorrow. Transfixed, you journey through this eerie world, and somehow you cannot seem to get enough. The album ascends, the final track arrives and yet you are already hitting repeat.
