Live at the All Good Music Festival 2011
Year: 2010
Runtime: 1 hr 46 min
From modest beginnings in a Buffalo basement over two decades ago to today’s multifaceted success, the members of moe. have never lost sight of the earnest, elemental goals that they aspired to from their very first show: to deliver honest, heartfelt music and to ensure the audience has a good time. Considerate and conscientious in their actions and decision-making, moe.’s refreshingly unpretentious attitude has won them a devoted legion of dedicated fans (ranging from seasoned concert-goers to eager young newcomers) and has given rise to a thriving cottage industry – a self-contained nation-state in which the band and their audience live as equals, thriving on a reciprocal appreciation rare in today’s increasingly fragmented musical landscape. 2010 marks the twentieth anniversary of moe.’s frontline of Rob Derhak (bass, vocals), Chuck Garvey (guitar, vocals), and Al Schnier (guitar, keyboards, vocals), who continue to perform together with the addition of drummer Vinnie Amico and percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Jim Loughlin. Keeping a consistent lineup intact and productive over two decades is no small feat. moe.’s saga is made all the more remarkable because they have consistently done so on their own terms, as independent artists who actively manage their own affairs while staying well ahead of industry and technological developments, including successfully self-releasing their own music and offering instant on-site digital concert recordings at their shows.Added to My Q

The bluegrass-based jam band the String Cheese Incident is comprised of mandolinist/violinist Michael Kang, guitarist Bill Nershi, bassist Keith Moseley, pianist Kyle Hollingsworth, and percussionist Michael Travis. Formed in Boulder, CO, in 1993, the group's self-described "sacrilegious mix of bluegrass, calypso, salsa, Afro-pop, funk, rock, and jazz" quickly built up a following on the local club circuit, and within six months of their formation they earned an invitation to open the legendary Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

These New Orleans legends played their final shows at Tipitinas in New Orleans. Dubbed The Last Watusi, the band celebrated their storied 33-year career with a three-night run, starting with an acoustic show and closing their time together with a sold-out show two nights later. The energetic concert featured such fan favorites as Monkey Meet and River Run, which included an Over Under Sideways Down tease by guitarist Dave Malone. After a lengthy set the band came back out for an encore featuring a rendition of The Radiators original Confidential that segued into a cover of Willie Dixons blues classic Back Door Man. iClips.com streamed all three nights, and will keep these shows in their streaming archive until June 17.Added to My Q

Live at Red Rocks: Day 1, Part I
Year: 2011
Runtime: 1 hr 6 min
In the first of three sold out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Widespread Panic, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, dazzled devoted fans with an old-school show that lasted close to three hours.
It seemed appropriate that they kicked off the show with "Postcards," with its line: This town is nuts, my kind of place, I dont want to leave. Given the love the band and fans have for Red Rocks shows, it sometimes feels like they could simply play every summer show there and the fans would journey from around the country to see them.
On "Ribs and Whiskey," lead guitarist Jimmy Herring picked piercing trills over lead vocalist John Bells sultry, lazy slide playing while bassist Dave Schools laid down a funky groove underneath. Out of a long jam, percussionist Domingo Sunny Ortiz took a little solo and then locked in with Schools on the intro to the instrumental, "Party At Your Mama's House."
As the band closed out with a fiery "Radio Child," Bell stepped up and said they'd see everybody tomorrow night. The amphitheater then got turned into a disco, as the house lights mimicked a disco ball and the PA blared Michael Jacksons "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," a perfect backing track for fans to dance down to their cars.Added to My Q

Runtime: 1 hr 7 min
Widespread Panic is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary
A band that doesn't repeat set lists and likes to stretch things out, you'll never know which show will be THE show that every fan will wish they had been at. Saturday night, their second of a three-night run at Red Rocks, Widespread Panic hit higher heights than they did the previous night.
By the time the band took the stage at 7:50 p.m., the energy among the fans was electric. Panic wasted no time delivering the goods, opening with a one-two punch of "Sometimes" and "North." Dave Schools stepped up with a bass break during the former, and lead guitarist Jimmy Herring and keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann traded singing solos and rolling fills on the latter.

With 2 million paid song downloads through their site MuleTracks, seven critically acclaimed studio records already released, a handful of DVDs and live albums, plus an ever-expanding fanbase and sold-out coast-to-coast tours, Gov't Mule could easily rest on its laurels. Yet when they're one of the hardest working bands in rock history.
Haynes explains, "We want By A Thread to be a surprise, so we've made a point not to play any of them live until our fans can get the full impact of the new material."
The Band Closed off Saturday night at the Mountain Jam Festival with their first show scheduled in 2011. Frontman Warren Haynes promised the crowd a crazy night, and didnt disappoint, leading off with Railroad Boy and Thorazine Shuffle. Mule played a lengthy number of covers in the first set, including ZZ Tops Nasty Dogs And Funky Kings, The Whos Wont Get Fooled Again, and closed the first set with Black Sabbaths War Pigs. The second set also featured several covers, including the lead-off Money and Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones Angie. The highlight of the night was a lengthy 32/20 Blues, which featured Cody Dickinson on electric washboard, Luther Dickinson on guitar, and Hook Herrera on harmonica.Added to My Q

The California native is a natural born showman, a slide-guitar legend whose ability to dabble in (and pull off) everything from folk blues to country jazz and reggae has earned Harper legions of fans the world over. So when we were given the opportunity to film Ben Harper accompanied by the blues-driven Texas trio Relentless7 at the Metro in Sydney, needless to say we were a little bit excited. And it may have been filmed in 2009, but this show was such a stand out favorite of ours there was no question that it was set to become one of our Classic Concerts someday.Added to My Q

A dramatic leap forward for two of the music worlds most dynamic performers, singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks, introduced their new 11-piece ensemble Tedeschi Trucks Band to rave reviews earlier this spring in advance of their first full CD release together, Revelator. Acclaimed by Rolling Stone, Revelator is a confident yet unforced triumph offering a cohesive vision: an idyllic, musical world in which the echoes of so many great traditions Delta blues and Memphis soul, Sixties rock and Seventies funk flow together naturally, blending with an entirely original, modern sensibility.Added to My Q

From the opening note of "Wondering" all the way through to the set closing "Conrad," the band owned the opportunity. Sandwiched in between the opener and a divine "C. Brown," a very leggy "Surprise Valley" overwhelmed the crowd with an almost-anthemic presence. "Kiss the mountain air we breathe" sounds good standing anywhere, but beneath "ship" and "Creation" rocks it evoked magic. All weekend the boys in the band had worn smiling faces, but early in the day it was easy to see that Sunday "Funday" was going to be enchanting.
Words can difficultly describe the bands energy on this last day. As the band masterfully wielded a "Bowlegged Woman" into "Lawyers, Guns and Money," it started to become apparent that the second set would be no ordinary picnic. Call them fan favorites, Halloween treats, illustrious tour gems, whatever you want, but don't expect to hear "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Knocking Around the Zoo" and "Walk On" in consecutive order too often. The only seemingly botched moment in the whole afternoon was a "Guilded Splinters" that by most standards was still great but just seemed to be lost for a bit before being revitalized by some

Umphrey's McGee continue to defy convention with their ferocious live shows, never-ending catalogue, and innovative approach to all facets of the music industry. That approach was clearly on display on January 1st, 2016 as the band limited capacity of the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO to an intimate group of super fans for a truly special evening. The band premiered an archival documentary film and followed it up with a Storytellers style performance. They took time in between tracks to dig deeply into the song writing and lyrical process, share stories of the tune’s origins and crack jokes in classic UM fashion. This is a rare, behind the curtain look at the true nature of the band to be equally enjoyed by the die-hard fan and newbie alike. UM is Musicianship for the Masses.Added to My Q

Umphrey's McGee continue to defy convention with their ferocious live shows, never-ending catalogue, and innovative approach to all facets of the music industry. That unique approach was on display on January 2nd, 2015 as the band performed their fourth night in a row at Atlanta's famed Tabernacle (there were five total!). The show featured a rare acoustic segment as the electric guitars were put down for four songs, including a debut of the Crosby, Stills & Nash classic "Southern Cross." And with the band performing the encore in bath robes (a first), this show truly has something for everyone.
