Live at the Enmore Theatre

Animal Collective

Year: 2009

Runtime: 01:41:14

A band and tour that require little introduction, we are extremely psyched to welcome the return of Animal Collective to Australia in December 2009. After a decade of music-making both in band and solo form, the Collective's cult truly exploded with the release of their ninth studio album, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Not even a year old, and the record has already come to be considered a classic of our time.

  • Live at Hype Machine's Hype Hotel

    Kodaline

    Year: 2013

    Runtime: 23 min

The music created by Dublin alternative four-piece Kodaline will hijack a diverse assortment of souls. Their debut EP, released last year, featured four songs, all of which offered their own marque of sincerity stretching from the indie rock simplicity of "Perfect World" to the highest reaches of the arena-suited "All I Want", where frontman Steve Garrigan squeezes hearts with a voice comparable only to that of Coldplay's Chris Martin. Kodaline is a perfect emblem of a band that will undoubtedly explode in the U.S. as their genre melding music is accessible to fans of any palate.

Baeble captured the Irishmen during their recent trip to the States when they made a profound pit stop at Hype Machine's Hype Hotel down in Austin this March. Their debut full-length studio album, In A Perfect World is due out next month, June 10th, and we're confident this concert capture will be the perfect icebreaker with your new favorite band: Kodaline.

    Cold War Kids

    Year: 2013

    Runtime: 1 hr 16 min

If there is one thing Cold War Kids have taught us it's never judge a book by its cover - or a band by its name. The Californian indie rockers performed a slick, soulful, grown-up set at Regency Ballroom in support in support of "Dear Miss Lonelyhearts." Dipping into newer tracks such as rollicking electro stomper 'Miracle Mile' and raw renditions of fan favourites like 'We Used To Vacation' and 'Hang Me Up To Dry', the Kids showed us they are more than capable of putting on a phenomenal live performance that can keep everyone in the house rocking until the final minute.

  • Live at Hype Machine's Hype Hotel

    Mac DeMarco

    Year: 2013

    Runtime: 24 min

Behind Mac DeMarco's torn up jeans, oversized flannel and rambunctious attitude is a magnificent and emotive songwriter. The Canadian artist's debut full-length album, simply called '2', is loaded with jangly guitar rock, which he personally describes as "jizz jazz", as well as simple and relatable lyrics about suburban life.

During this showcase at the Hype Hotel, the rowdy Canadian was in full swing with random outbursts while chugging beers supplied by audience members. Did we mention his set was at 1PM? But this boisterous behavior was juxtaposed as the gentler Dr. Jekyll side of DeMarco's split personality radiated brilliantly through his music.

  • Live at McCarren Park

    Deerhunter

    Year: 2008

    Runtime: 47 min

Oftentimes at live shows, musicians of the indie-rock variety get so caught up in all the strut and swagger that goes along with rock music that they forget to be fun. Deerhunter are not that, as evidenced by their performance here at McCarren Park Pool. On the contrary, front man Bradford Cox is a pretty damn funny guy. And while he may look like a young Thurston Moore without the flowing hair, Deerhunter opt out of your typical art-rock arrogance and instead go for a sonically sound show complete with a driving rhythm section and extra catchy guitar riffs. There's even a nutty vocal spot from Cole Alexander of The Black Lips. Top it off with some psychedelic effects and a pretty rhythm guitarist in cheerleader garb, and you've got yourself a Deerhunter performance that's way too fun to miss out on.

  • Live at The Bowery Ballroom

    Local Natives

    Year: 2010

    Runtime: 32 min

In the exclusive concert performance video we captured on the first night of the band's stint in NYC, the synergetic spirit that binds the band together is evident enough. Clearly, this is not a tribe who are comfortable with their work merely being good enough. Self confessed "control freaks;" the band and their music is the result of a communal creative process. Watching their interpretation of the Talking Heads' "Warning Sign," it's no great stretch to envision the band spending whole evenings working through single vocal passages. The rhythmic pounce of " Wide Eyes" offers a picture of the band studiously aligning cut and paste, percussive contributions so that each hit can synch with one another. And "Sun Hands" speaks to the band's efforts in holding back during one moment, so that another one can ultimately be that much more explosive. Dramatic, endearing, energetic, and impressive: we know you're going to love what is one of the most exciting bands we have ever had the pleasure to capture.

  • Live at Music Hall of Williamsburg

    Mumford & Sons

    Year: 2010

    Runtime: 57 min

The atmosphere at Music Hall Of Williamsburg was thick; like a down blanket, or a warm piece of cake, or any number of your favorite comfortable things. That could probably be attributed to the lush harmonies and textures of Mumford and Sons, a group of musicians (and not a family owned apothecary) who knocked several out of the park during this sold-out show earlier this Spring. From the schizophrenic instrument swaps to the bass-drum heavy foot-stomping tunes, Mumford and Sons produce a slice of music that is both wonderful and intrinsically dashing...and our cameras were there to prove it.

  • Hardcore Devo Live!

    Devo

    Year: 2015

    Runtime: 1 hr 25 min

Devo, captured live in Oakland, performing early experimental tracks written between 1974 and 1977, prior to any label deal or public success. No matter how messy, beginnings are exciting. Especially when what happens next endures the test of time. For Devo, the beginning happened in the basements and garages of Akron, Ohio. The songs they wrote were raw and unfiltered with no commercial intent. They called it Hardcore Devo. Performing 21 oddities, this is a tribute to departed, original Devo bandmate, Robert "Bob 2" Casale. Filmed live on June 28, 2014 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California.
