Umphrey's McGee

Year: 2015

Runtime: 03:25:19

Umphrey's McGee continue to defy convention with their ferocious live shows, never-ending catalogue, and innovative approach to all facets of the music industry. New Year’s Eve 2015 highlights that approach as the band performed three marathon sets at the famed Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO. UM’s New Year’s performances are synonymous with nonstop fun and this one was no different as the band was joined by longtime special guest horn section (Mad Dog and his Filthy Little Secret) throughout the night. With a mixture of old staples, multiple debuts, and classic covers, this performance is simply not to be missed. The set list goes on and on with highlights including “No Diablo,” “Women, Wine and Song,” “Bad Friday,” and the debut of R. Kelly’s “Ignition,” because hey, why not? Settle in and prepare yourself.

Umphrey's McGee continue to defy convention with their ferocious live shows, never-ending catalogue, and innovative approach to all facets of the music industry. Those elements were on display when UM took the stage at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on July 3rd, 2015. Lauded as one of finest concert venues in the world, UM didn’t squander the opportunity to deliver to the sold-out crowd. The energy was palpable from the first note and heavy hitters like “Puppet String,” Mulche’s Odyssey,” and “Rocker Part 2” kept it going all night. A near flawless rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” instantly became a UM fan favorite. UM is Musicianship for the Masses.

The show featured a rare acoustic segment as the electric guitars were put down for four songs, including a debut of the Crosby, Stills & Nash classic "Southern Cross." Ben Harper & Relentless7

    Year: 2018

    Runtime: 1 hr 28 min

The California native is a natural born showman, a slide-guitar legend whose ability to dabble in (and pull off) everything from folk blues to country jazz and reggae has earned Harper legions of fans the world over. So when we were given the opportunity to film Ben Harper accompanied by the blues-driven Texas trio Relentless7 at the Metro in Sydney, needless to say we were a little bit excited. And it may have been filmed in 2009, but this show was such a stand out favorite of ours there was no question that it was set to become one of our Classic Concerts someday.

    Gov't Mule

    Year: 2011

    Runtime: 3 hr 8 min

With 2 million paid song downloads through their site MuleTracks, seven critically acclaimed studio records already released, a handful of DVDs and live albums, plus an ever-expanding fanbase and sold-out coast-to-coast tours, Gov't Mule could easily rest on its laurels. Yet when they're one of the hardest working bands in rock history.

Haynes explains, "We want By A Thread to be a surprise, so we've made a point not to play any of them live until our fans can get the full impact of the new material."

The Band Closed off Saturday night at the Mountain Jam Festival with their first show scheduled in 2011. Frontman Warren Haynes promised the crowd a crazy night, and didnt disappoint, leading off with Railroad Boy and Thorazine Shuffle. Mule played a lengthy number of covers in the first set, including ZZ Tops Nasty Dogs And Funky Kings, The Whos Wont Get Fooled Again, and closed the first set with Black Sabbaths War Pigs. The second set also featured several covers, including the lead-off Money and Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones Angie. The highlight of the night was a lengthy 32/20 Blues, which featured Cody Dickinson on electric washboard, Luther Dickinson on guitar, and Hook Herrera on harmonica.

  • Love is Here: Live

    Starsailor

    Year: 2001

    Runtime: 1 hr 17 min

Some would say that Starsailor are Chorley's biggest contribution to modern culture since the opening of the nearby Charnock Richard M6 motorway services in the 1960s. Like the aforementioned favourite resting point for Blackpool day-trippers Love Is Here (Live), will become a solid, long-stay favourite for fans. Recorded in November 2001, one month after the release of their debut album and while they were still being lauded as "the next big thing", the main feature is a live run through of the album. New composition "Some of Us" and the B-side "From a Whisper to a Scream" are also performed, along with versions of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and Elton John's "Rocket Man". The concert footage and the audio (Dolby 5.1) are of a high quality, and breakthrough tracks "Poor Misguided Fool" and "Alcoholic" sound stunning. The show is hampered, though, by the limited material the guys can draw upon, and Walsh's repetitive melancholic delivery of existing songs. What does become apparent is that after a couple more albums and a little more musical experimentation Starsailor are on course to be live giants.
