Live at the California Jam 1974
Year: 1973
Runtime: 1 hr 26 min
Deep Purple were the biggest selling album act in America when they embarked on a 28 date tour promoting their new album "Burn". The undoubted climax of this tour was headlining the California Jam Festival at Ontario Speedway in California, in front of 200,000 people. Their explosive set is presented here on DVD for the first time. The set list includes tracks from "Burn", as well as classics like "Space Truckin'" and "Smoke On The Water".
As the show came to a close, Blackmore - angered by troubles backstage - took his revenge on one of the TV cameras, before exploding his amps and destroying several guitars. It made for a visually astonishing climax to the set, and almost got the band banned from playing live in America again.Added to My Q

Thirty years later, in September 1999, Deep Purple and the London Symphony Orchestra returned to the same venue for the concertos second performance. The centrepiece of the concert is of course the concerto itself but it is preceded by a short set of other Jon Lord tracks, songs from Roger Glovers Butterfly Ball (sung by Ronnie James Dio) and Ian Paices jazz arrangement of the early Purple classic Wring That Neck. Following the concerto are five Deep Purple classics culminating with Smoke On The Water.Added to My Q

For the first time ever the legendary band (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart) was accompanied on this tour by an eight-piece string section! This electrifying concert features over 3 hours of music including favorites "Tom Sawyer" and "The Spirit of Radio," 3 drum solos, new string arrangements of classics such as "YYZ," "Dreamline" and "Red Sector A," and rarely performed songs such as "The Body Electric" and "Middletown Dreams."Added to My Q

Yes are one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time with a career that now spans five decades. In 2003 the band made their first appearance at the Montreux Festival, despite having a long association with the town itself (they recorded there frequently in the seventies). It was a triumphant night and is regarded by both the band members and fans as probably the finest Yes gig ever to be filmed. It has been much in demand and is now finally cleared for release.Added to My Q

This documentary recorded in 1977, is a rare film, originally a cinema
to life on the road during BJH’s most successful period. Including rare
pre-concert sound checks. Barclay James Harvest formed in the summer of 1967. From the very outset the band pioneered and experimented with new forms, going beyond the traditional guitar, bass and drums format to include woodwind, strings and brass, then acquiring a Mellotron to simulate the sound of an orchestra. Throughout the seventies the band continued to develop chart-topping albums and were capable of filling stadiums and arenas throughout Europe.Added to My Q

The 30-year history of Wishbone Ash has hardly been smooth, with numerous personnel changes and gradually fading popularity since the band's most acclaimed album, Argus, was released in 1972. What you'll witness here, then, is an inspiring and altogether good-natured example of survival embodied by original Wishbone guitarist Andy Powell. Looking youthful at 50, his formerly long hair now shaved off altogether, Powell remains a virtuoso ax-man, matched by fellow ace Mark Birch (temporarily filling the shoes of the departed Ted Turner) to recreate Wishbone's signature twin-guitar sound. As the sole survivor of Wishbone's original lineup, Powell happily presides over the group's considerable legacy, epitomized here by outstanding performances of the Ash classics "Phoenix" and "Blowin' Free." The concert's a no-frills affair with an occasionally uneven mix, but the music comes through with clarity and gusto, reminding us that Wishbone Ash's unique blend of musicianship remains influential some three decades later.Added to My Q

Time Machine: Live in Cleveland
Year: 2015
Runtime: 2 hr 36 min
'TIME MACHINE 2011: Live In Cleveland' is an evening with Rush performing their classic hits and features the legendary 'Moving Pictures' album, performed live in its entirety. Released in 1981, 'Moving Pictures' is their most successful album, certified 4x Platinum, and features some of the band's most well known songs and perennial radio favorites, including “Tom Sawyer,” “Limelight” and the Grammy®-nominated instrumental “YYZ.” Captured in April, 2011 in Cleveland during the renowned trio’s extensive world tour, 'TIME MACHINE 2011: Live In Cleveland' marks the band’s first live concert filmed in the United States. The choice to record in Cleveland was a deliberate nod of gratitude to the first city to support Rush on its airwaves, as former WMMS DJ Donna Halper is widely credited for helping break the band in 1974 by spinning “Working Man.” The reinterpreted live version of “Working Man” was the encore closer on the Time Machine tour and is included on this release. In addition to the 26-song concert set, Rush’s notorious concept tour videos are included: The first short film, entitled “The ‘Real’ History of Rush Episode No. 2 ‘Don’t Be Rash,’” and the opening second set video, "The ‘Real’ History of Rush Episode No. 17 ‘...and Rock and Roll is My Name.'"Added to My Q

The longest lasting and the most successful of the '70s progressive rock groups, the band YES comes together with their classic lineup (Rick Wakeman, Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, and Alan White) celebrating their 35th year together. Captured at the Tsongas arena in Massachusetts, this concert is on the grand scale of past years with new stage designs by famed artist Roger Dean. The show opens with the band entering the arena to Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite." From that moment forward, Yes delivers an unforgettable performance including classics such as "Going for the One," "Your Move/All Good People" and "Yours is No Disgrace."
Midway through the set they scale things down a bit and perform dazzling acoustic versions of "Long Distance Runaround," "Roundabout," and "Owner of a Lonely Heart", among others. The concert culminates with a rousing rendition of "Starship Trouper." Howe and Wakeman's dueling solo's coupled with Anderson's powerful yet delicate vocals make for an unforgettable finale.Added to My Q

Pt II The band Heart has gone through many manifestations since its inception in the early ‘70s, but what keeps Heart “pumping” are sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. Ann’s voice is unmistakable, and Nancy’s guitar playing is the perfect complement. On the second half of this Soundstage episode the sisters come back with a vengeance – blazing through songs like “Barracuda” and “Even it Up.” They then slow it down on the reflective “Dog and Butterfly” and “Alone.”Added to My Q

In 1970 The Moody Blues were at their creative and commercial peak. After reinventing themselves from their R&B roots to a much more sophisticated sound, between 1967 and 1970 they released five albums, four of which hit the Top 5 in the UK with two of them going to No.1. They enjoyed similar success in the USA where four of the albums hit the Top 20 and the other was just outside. At the end of August 1970, shortly after the release of their album “A Question Of Balance”, The Moody Blues took to the stage of the Isle Of Wight Festival in front of an audience estimated at over half a million. This film makes that performance available to be seen for the first time.Added to My Q
